Kelsay + Luke / a beautiful August wedding at the Vista Grande in Clinton, IA
Kelsay McCausland and Luke Bray tied the knot and it was such an incredibly beautiful day!
We started our day at the couple’s gorgeous home where the ladies were getting ready. Huge thank you to Ashly Brown from Trademarks Hair Co. and Ebony Jackson from Elli Ro Beauty for bringing out the queen in all of them! They looked AMAZING!
Meanwhile, my second shooter for the day, Angela Brearton, hung out with the guys while they prepared for the big day too. There were some sweet moments and a special gift between Luke and his son Hunter. After a quick celebratory drink, the guys headed to the Bickelhaupt Arboretum in Clinton, IA and after the bride showed off her dress to the bridesmaids and her dad, we left to join them for the couples’ first look!
The weather was absolutely perfect (especially considering it was the end of August!) and we took tons of lovely portraits. The colors coordinated so well and the florals were beautiful. Kelsay’s aunt Mary put them together and she did such a great job! I also hear she made the cake…talented woman right there! I’m always excited when we get all of the must-have shots done before the ceremony because then we know the rest of the day will go smoothly!
If you’re loving their timeless and elegant style as much as I did, you can find the girls’ dresses at Azazie in colors Desert rose and Cabernet, the mens suits are navy blue from the Gentry Shop. They wore blush ties and pocket squares, while the groom went with a classic ivory. Kelsay’s stunning gown was from Brides by Jessa in Coralville, IA.
After leaving the arboretum we headed to the 1st Baptist Church where Luke and Kelsay officially became Mr and Mrs Bray at 3:00 PM on 8/27/2022! Thank you to the church and Lynn Seitz for helping to coordinate the big event.
A few more portraits later and everyone was ready to CELEBRATE! What better place to party than Clinton’s very own Vista Grande! They always knock it out of the park with their customer service, decorating and delish catering from Corner Deli. I had the pleasure of working with DJ Twisted Mics who obviously did a great job of keeping the party going (just look at the fun pics!)!
All in all, the day was perfect and I was so honored to be a part of the beginning of this wonderful new family!
Congratulations again Kelsay and Luke (and Hunter too)! Best wishes on many years of happiness to come!
