A Fun Day of Exploring and Family Bonding at Camp Kawnipi
We had the true pleasure of visiting Camp Kawnipi in Blue Grass, Iowa this weekend. This is a beautiful woodsy area full of little adventures to be had, and it’s all in Miss Sherry’s very own backyard!
We met Sherry O’Keefe last year when I signed my kids up for Tinkergarten. This is a program where kids get to be outdoors, learning through play and exploration. It certainly ignited an appreciation for nature not only for my children, but myself as well. This is largely thanks to Sherry’s infectious energy and lust for life that you can’t help but admire. She is a true free spirit. She and her husband generously invite all to come enjoy a little piece of her paradise free of charge, whether it’s for a few hours or overnight. We were thrilled to take her up on the offer and chose to camp out!
Now, a piece of paradise doesn’t come free of hard work and commitment. Nearly all of this beautiful, fun camp has been put together in the surprisingly short span of only five months! She decided to use her time at home due to the pandemic to turn a long-time dream into a reality.
