The Lassens / a Fun & Energetic Family Session by the River in Clinton, Iowa

It’s always a little extra fun for me to photograph a family with two boys the same ages as my boys! It’s like I feel right at home or something!

I let the kids guide the session because it keeps them engaged and involved in the process. And the ironic thing is, I actually liked the spot Sawyer found better than where I was planning to take them anyway!

Little brother Tucker kept me on my toes from start to finish. In fact, I don’t think he sat still for more than a few seconds at at time LOL! I love his adventurous spirit though and to me it’s more important to capture the real moments. I got the impression that big brother Sawyer is the more laid back of the two and I adored capturing some of his thoughtful expressions.

We only had a short window of time to document these family memories but I’d say we caught some great ones! These are some of my favorites so far.

And of course we took a couple breaks to throw rocks and sticks into the river.
