Kenzie + Jarrett / an evening engagement shoot at Oak Hill Weddings in Apple River, Illinois

Kenzie and Jarrett have been together since their high school prom and after years of school, moving around the country and falling in love, they are ready to say their I do’s next June! They chose a gorgeous venue - Oak Hill Weddings in Apple River, Illinois. Since I hadn’t been there and they wanted to scope out the place while they were in the state, it seemed like the perfect engagement portrait spot.

They chose two outfits, which is always what I recommend! One on the dressy side and the other more casual. We had fun exploring the grounds and “chasing the light,” finding great portrait locations along the way. While they changed clothes I was able to get some photos of her stunning ring! It’s inspired by Beauty and the Beast since Kenzie is a huge Disney fan. I absolutely love it, so unique and absolutely beautiful!

I checked out Oak Hill’s website before the session and caught in their About section that they love string lights. This made me SO happy because they photograph really well! I was obsessed with the line of pine trees connected with pretty, glowy lights. And no matter what pose we did, Kenzie and Jarrett totally nailed it! They make such a sweet couple and have an obvious chemistry that was captured in every photo.

Next Summer is going to be amazing, I seriously have the best couples!!

Kenzie really wanted a picture of the donkeys, Jojo and Earl, but they were hiding until the last possible minute. Luckily we spotted one as we were heading back to our cars!
