Kaitlin + Ashton / a Lovely Blush Pink & Navy Blue Summer Wedding in Davenport, Iowa

As everyone knows, life has been anything but normal this past several months! For all of the 2020 brides and grooms, it’s been even more stressful to plan a wedding than what it usually is, which already is no easy task. Kaitlin and Ashton held on for the news of whether or not they could still have their wedding on June 27, 2020. After months of uncertainty it was finally announced that their venue could open and their nuptials could happen as planned. They were thrilled of course, but it also meant a lot of final details to wrap up. I must say, they pulled it off in the end and it was amazing to see it all come together!

I had been watching the forecast for the week leading up to the wedding and it said thunderstorms likely for daaaays. Fortunately, the clouds parted and we wound up with nothing but sunshine! Lots and lots of sunshine…it was definitely a hot one! But everyone managed to get through portraits at Vander Veer Park without completely melting and we headed to the beautiful (and air conditioned) Golden Leaf in Davenport, Iowa for the ceremony and reception. This was actually my first time at the Golden Leaf and I absolutely LOVED it! Not only is it gorgeous, but super convenient with a separate room for the ceremony and plenty of space for the party afterward.

Music Connection nailed it with the playlist. They played some old classics that I haven’t heard in years! And of course I had to taste the cake…I’m pleased to report that it was soooo good! Soft, fluffy and flavorful, simply delicious. Like I said before, everything came together wonderfully and it was one heck of a celebration for Mr and Mrs Schulz!
